10 body love affirmations

The words we speak and think about our body have power and meaning. That’s why I love positive affirmation statements. They set intentions for what we want to think, feel and do. And because I believe it’s so important to be kind to our bodies, I want to share 10 body love affirmations with you!

Why does body love matter?

In a world filled with so much talk about diets, plastic surgery, being thin and more, it’s easy to look at our own bodies with a critical eye. But, your body is amazing! I’m eternally grateful for my body – it’s cleared three cancers and remains ready to be as active as I am!

I think it’s easy to start to resent or feel angry, disappointed and doubt when our body suddenly shows signs of illness or injury. Especially when we have been feeling well or working towards something fun, like vacation, a race or physical activity.

However, one thing to keep in mind is that when our body is showing symptoms of illness, ache or something other than normal, it’s communicating to pay attention. And we often don’t listen – we continue exercising when our body hurts, eat crappy foods even when we know we’ll feel yucky, skip vaccines, wellness visits, and screenings, forget to pause to ask our body what it wants to feel good and more. It’s sometimes no wonder that our bodies start to break down.

I’ve learned to appreciate when my body is trying to say something is up. The more in tune you are with your body, the faster you will notice something is up and can prevent a more serious issue.

One important lesson that I learned from clearing cancer: I get one body in this lifetime. I do not take my body’s health for granted. It’s my duty to honor this gift and nurture it to be as healthy and strong as possible.

A few months ago I shared how important I AM affirmations are for helping manage our mindset. These are a big part of my daily self-care routine. I love these so much that I created a card deck with I AM affirmations!

But it’s not just me preferring to focus on positivity. It really does impact your mental and emotional health. In fact, research shows that the inner dialogue you have with yourself can positively or negatively impact your overall life. Self-talk impacts your mindset, actions, motivation and more. And if it impacts all of this, it also impacts your body’s health.
