About me.

Some random words to both describe me and describe the things I love:

Fun-loving. Smiles. Loves to be inspired and hopes to inspire others. Laughter. Motivated. Active. Cancer survivor/advocate. Animal lover (horses and dogs are my favs). Loves traveling to explore new places, meet people and experience adventures. Addicted to reading and writing (journalism major!). Sunshine. Fresh air. Family. Loyal. Friends. Romantic at heart. Tries to always be an optimist. Outdoors. Happy. Peace.

Know why I started this blog? It’s about living life, sharing kindness and smiles, seeking adventures and new ideas, helping others and finding happiness and love in the people and places around us. As a two-time cancer survivor, I feel gratitude for each day. Life is not always easy; it is in fact full of challenges and unexpected twists. But there are some great opportunities awaiting us in those unexpected detours. My overall hope with this blog is to share stories and information about some great places in our grand country, inspiring people, local businesses and wonderful community organizations. I may ramble once in a while too. I’m told that I am a never-ending optimist – I take those comments as very kind compliments. Besides, doesn’t it feel so much better to be happy and positive than blah and negative? Life is a journey. As a cancer survivor and simple human being, I’m blessed to be here to experience it. Welcome to my hangout.

I invite you to be part of Heather’s Hangout and follow my adventures by signing up for my blog (on the right hand side).
